Meet the Doctor
Dr. Thomas E. Baker
Attending Indiana University in Bloomington, Dr. Baker was working on a Chemistry Degree when he chose to be an Optometrist. After graduating in 1987, he joined an Optometry Practice with locations in Decatur and New Haven, Indiana. Then, in 1994, Dr. Baker opened New Haven Optical LLC, which is still in its original location.
New Haven Optical LLC is very much a family practice. Dr. Baker sees patients of all ages, including infants. In addition to comprehensive, routine eye care, Dr. Baker offers pre and post procedure care for cataract and LASIK surgery. He can also treat glaucoma, eye infections, and eye injuries such as abrasions or foreign body removal.
Dr. Baker and Kay Richards-Baker have been married since 1989 and have three sons - Thomas, William (daughter-in-law Rachel), and David. They all attended Concordia Lutheran High School and were in the CLHS Marching Cadets. So of course, Dr. Baker and Kay were avid band boosters, being active pit crew members for 10 years!
Dr. Baker also sat on the Concordia Lutheran Board of Directors for nine years. These days, he and Kay enjoy visiting family across the country, from Naples to San Diego. They welcomed their first grand-daughter, Melody Rose, to their family in 2022.
Dr. Baker is a contributing member of the AOA, IOA, NEIOS, VisionSource, the New Haven Chamber of Commerce and works with the New Haven Lion's Club.
